I Had This Horrible Dream Last Night...

So, I Had A Horrible Dream Last Night, It's About Me Switching Schools.... I Hope You Enjoy...

I dreamed that I switched to a school in the middle of the Australian desert. There was nothing around it—no towns, no roads—just a flat, endless stretch of red sand and dry plants bending in the heat. The sky looked bleached, like the sun had burned all the color out of it.

The first class of the day was orchestra. That alone felt wrong. The room was freezing cold compared to the outside, and everyone already knew how to play except me. The instruments sounded off, like they were slightly out of tune no matter how perfectly they were played. Every time the conductor looked at me, the room felt smaller, like the walls were slowly closing in.

Lunch came too fast. We were served traditional Australian food I didn’t recognize, and no one explained what anything was. Everyone else ate normally while I stared at my plate, feeling watched. The heat followed me inside, clinging to my skin, making it hard to breathe.

After lunch, a principal announced we were going “downstairs.”

That’s when I realized the school had a basement.

The basement wasn’t a normal one—it was a state-of-the-art security detention prison. Bright white lights buzzed overhead, metal doors lined the hallways, and everything smelled sterile and cold. Australian guards stood everywhere, along with principals in uniforms that looked more like military gear than school clothing. They weren’t guarding prisoners—they were guarding students from detention, as if detention itself was something alive and dangerous.

Every step echoed too loudly. I felt like if I moved the wrong way, the doors would slam shut and I’d be trapped there forever.

Suddenly, I was outside again.

The school was gone.

All I could see was desert—endless, empty, silent except for the wind brushing against dry plants. The weather was hot and warm, not scorching, but heavy, like the air was pressing down on me. No guards followed. No principals shouted. No alarms went off.

That scared me the most.

At the end of the dream, I ran. I didn’t know where I was going, only that I had to leave. I ran straight into the desert, deeper and deeper, with no one trying to stop me—just the sun above, the sand below, and the feeling that I might never wake up.
